Helen Mirren To Be Honored With Golden Globe Career Honor.
The celebrated UK star Mirren, previously holder of an Oscar statuette, four Baftas, three Golden Globes, five Emmy Awards, and a Tony, is poised to add another esteemed prize to her collection: the Cecil B DeMille Golden Globe career honor.

Mirren, eighty, who was given a damehood in 2003 and made a Bafta fellow in 2014, will pick up the accolade at an event on the eighth of January, three days before the main Golden Globes occur, within a program described by the Globes as the “Golden Eve”.
Additionally featuring the bestowal of the organization’s Carol Burnett honor for small-screen contributions, the recipient of which remains unannounced. Previous recipients featured Viola Davis and Ted Danson.
“Dame Helen represents an unstoppable talent, and her career is absolutely exceptional,” stated the organization’s president, the Globes’ leader. “Her brilliant portrayals and commitment to her craft persistently influence generations of artists and viewers as well. It’s a tremendous privilege to award her the DeMille prize.”

Helen Mirren gained prominence in the 1970s with key roles on stage in the West End of London and with the RSC and in cinematic works like O Lucky Man!, Caligula & The Long Good Friday.
Back in the 90s, her lead performance in the investigative show Prime Suspect increased her popularity even more. Other key films comprise Excalibur, The Madness of King George, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Gosford Park and Calendar Girls.
